New video and single “sweden, where god only comes to shit” out today September 16 on Heptown Records. The song is from the album “Last days of capitalism”.
In the autumn of 2015 the Swedish government proclaimed Refugees welcome, when other European countries said wouldn’t give refugees shelter. A couple of months later the same government changed the politics to the opposite and executed the strictest migration policy in the EU under the pretence it needed a respite. The Fascists rightly accused the Social Democratic government for stealing their politics. So now Sweden’s got Nazis patrolling the streets, “protecting Swedish women”, when they’re not beating the same women to death. Refugee camps are set on fire, beggars and asylum seekers are being beaten. According to the poll the Fascists now get around 15 percent of the votes.

Hösten 2015 uttalade den socialdemokratiska regeringen, till skillnad från flera andra europeiska länder, att flyktingar var välkomna hit. Några månader senare ändrade samma regering denna politik till dess motsats, och verkställde den stramaste migrationspolitiken i EU under förevändning att den behövde andrum. Fascisterna anklagade korrekt regeringen för att ha stulit deras politik. Så nu har vi nazister som patrullerar gator, för att “skydda svenska kvinnor”, när de inte slår ihjäl samma kvinnor. Flyktingförläggningar brinner, tiggare och flyktingar misshandlas. Enligt SIFO får fascisterna nu runt 15 procent av väljarnas röster.

Tobbe from Moderat Likvidation joins the Bristles
Bristles loves Tobbe
Bristles welcomes Tobbe from former Moderat likvidation as a permanent member of the band.
The last year Tobbe has been joining the band as a guest. Now it’s decided that we’ll combine our forces and strengthen the band’s vocal abilities full time.
Tobbe is a friend of the band since the beginning of time (almost anyway). He’s also made a similar trip like us. Without these experiences, and what it does to a person, the cooperation probably wouldn’t be either possible nor of interest.
Bristles will still be playing some Moderat- and cover songs, for a time any way. The emphasis, however, will be on the new Bristles material, until it’s time to write new songs with the new lineup.
And seriously, concerning the scene, 2015 was really a crappy year with all damn liberal and pointless and melodic pop-punk. Let’s kick out this California complex from the scene once and for all in 2016.

Times truly out of mind when old anti-fascists become “critical of immigration”, organizations to the left is fishing in murky waters and those who believe that the distribution of resources between the classes is the problem, not the refugees, must run the gauntlet. Unfortunately, just like in the 80s yuppie era, 90’s sale of public property and services, and 2000s cutbacks, that when its needed more than ever, the left has gone into hiding.
Det har sannerligen gått långt då gamla anti-fascister blir “invandrarkritiska”, vänsterorganisationer fiskar i grumliga vatten och de som anser att resursfördelningen mellan klasser är problemet, inte flyktingar, får löpa gatlopp. Tyvärr, precis som på 80-talets yuppie-era, 90-talets utförsäljning av allmän egendom och verksamheter, och 2000-talets nedskärningar, att då den hade behövts som bäst, så lyser vänstern med sin frånvaro.

Men’s war against women is global. It doesn’t matter whether it is war or peace, democracy or dictatorship: It’s an oppression of women. Most of the poor are women, most of the wealthy are men. The inequality is quite clear when what’s invested in gender equality work or for the improvement of women’s situation merely is a piss in the ocean in comparison with military spending as an example. Men’s violence against women is by far what causes the most casualties in our world.

The Bristles new album Last Days of Capitalism is a review of the past two years’ events ending up in the current both economic and political crisis. The economic crisis has led to war, and the political crisis consists of the fascism it brought. Racism and chauvinism are now norm.
Other topics covered are the West’s mass consumption, men’s global war on women, the Left’s failure, and multinational companies grip on people. Then there are some more traditional working-class songs about work buyers reprimands and neglecting ones job for the last time.
Musically it follows the frustration over the state of affairs. It’s fast, hard, simple and crude. There are no false notes, it’s not out of tune, no-one’s playing anything wrong, although it may appear so, it’s exactly the way it’s supposed to be.
The CD also contains bonus tracks from The Bristles records on Swedish, The Bristles Spelar Ebba, The Bristles’ Christmas and Val? EP never before released on CD.

– Det var Tommy Tift (Sista Sekunden, Vånna Inget) som frågade oss om vi inte ville släppa en EP på Majken Records inför valet. Han önskemål var ett par snabba känglåtar med svenska texter om valet och andra aktuella ämnen, säger Svegis, bandets gitarrist.
Så bandet gjorde fem känglåtar och spelade in dem på en dag i Tommys studio. Varenda låt i en tagning, och inga som helst pålägg.
– Efter den sista spelningen förra sommaren kände vi det som om vi stod och harvade samma skit om och om igen. Vi behövde göra nåt annat, ta oss vidare. Vi visste inte vart, mer än att det skulle vara hårdare och mer ursinne än förr.
– Vi har inga illusioner om sossarna vid makten, men de senaste åtta åren har varit en katastrof. Ironiskt nog har motståndet mot högerpolitiken varit lamare än det motstånd sossarna fick känna på med Göran Persson som statsminister. Borgarna blev omvalda samtidigt som Sverigefascisterna kom in i riksdagen. Vänsterns skuld ska inte underskattas.
– Borgarnas politik gynnar ett fåtal i Sverige men ändå röstar folk på de och undrar sen varför vi får det sämre hela tiden, avslutar Svegis.

Before the coming International Women´s day on the 8th of March, the Bristles releases a new single/video; “A Woman’s Work is Never Done”. Guest artist is Neli on vocals.
Sweden is ranked as one of the most gender equal countries of the world. Yet, it is far from close to being equal. That says a lot about the state of the world.

Christmas is the most important period for the retail trade. It particularly points to the hyped consumerism beginning earlier and earlier every year. In Sweden the trade fell marginally Christmas 2012 after having increased for 17 consecutive years. The forecast for 2013 is that it will increase once again. In December 2012 the retail trade turnover was SEK 65 billion (approximately EUR 6.5 billion). For example, the toy trade turnover was 25 percent of the annual, bookstore and electronics trade 16 and 15 percent respectively.
But it’s not just the retail trade that hits record on Christmas. So do heart attacks, alcohol poisonings and suicides, with what all that it brings, all related to this Western, Christian feast.

Svindel records Christmas record with the Bristles
Each artist with self respect is recording Christmas songs. Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Lynyrd Skynyrd, who has released two, to name a few. Now the Swedish punk rockers the Bristles also join this crowd.
It’s the Norwegian label Svindel records who release the Christmas record with the Bristles versions of Schlagers Christmas single from 1980, Anders F Rönnbloms Det är inte snön som faller (It’s Not Snow That’s Falling) and Ebba Gröns Nu slocknar tusen människoliv (Now Thousand Lives Fades Away).
– We thought it was appropriate to bring a different perspective on this feast, says Svegis, the band’s guitarist. The pc-critical perspective which, although obvious, drowns in the peddlers praise to consumerism.
The record is released on vinyl, but will also be available digitally on Spotify and similar services. The songs will also be available for downloading at PirateBay.
– We choose the songs we cover with great care. Last time we did the Swedish National Anthem, Ebba Gröns Beväpna er (Arm Yourself). So when we discussed Christmas songs the songs on Schlagers Christmas record from 1980, Anders F Rönnbloms Det är inte snön som faller och Ebba Gröns Nu släckas tusen människoliv, became natural choices. They’re both classic Christmas songs.
The record is released with a video made by the Zander brothers. It also includes a Christmas appeal from the band, and a tale from the archive of the Swedish Employers Central Organisation: The tale of the old woman who bought too little.
